Evolvera AB developed TimeEdit already in 1992. The system has continuously been refined over the past 13 years with focus on needs and demands of professional resource planning. Today TimeEdit is used within more than 30 universities and other organizations in Northern Europe.

 TimeEdit is probably the best solution of resource planning system due to its functionality, high pace of development and low costs of implementation. Resource planning for a minor unit within an organization is usually not that difficult. For larger organizations however, this can be time and cost consuming as well as a need of special tools. TimeEdit is developed for tasks and demands of larger organizations when it comes to resource planning. In TimeEdit, endless numbers of bookings can be made with thousands of resources. Thousands of web users and up to 50 professional resource planners can work simultaneously.

TimeEdit has a graphical overview that enables you to book a multiple range of resources, such as teachers, courses, equipment, etc at the same time. It doesn?t matter if it is just for one occasion or for several during a certain period of time. The user can easily get a quick overview of the situation and see what resources are booked or where new ones can be made. There is no limit of the complexity that TimeEdit can handle. On the contrary, when demands get more complicated the need for TimeEdit increases!

Resource planning is an ongoing process. Conditions can always change over time; teachers or rooms can become unavailable and replacements have to be found; all information is not available when the reservation has to be done. One always has to be able to make adjustments to the schedule. This is the reality for which TimeEdit was created.

TimeEdit is the resource-planning tool which adapts to fit an organizations requests and needs. In one case, room booking and scheduling of courses should be in the same system, in other cases one needs to solve a staff roster situation while at the same time assigning a critical task which has to be completed by people with the right competence and equipment. There are two ways of working with TimeEdit, through client-based applications or web. Professional schedulers book through an advanced client, the tasks are more complex and designed for fast and effective use. Through the web, a large amount of users will be able to access timetables and make reservations of resources.
 Based on modern technology
TimeEdit applies a dynamic table structure to solve all kinds of complex booking situations. The TimeEdit Server that can run on either Windows 2003 or Mac OSX masters all the data entered into the system. Professional users have a client-based application on either Windows or Mac OSX. The web booking application runs preferably on a Unix platform. Authentication of users in the web booking can be done via LDAP catalogues or equivalent systems. The reservations are stored in TimeEdit Server and the user account information is stored in an SQL database. TimeEdit can easily be integrated with other systems via a complete WebServices library. Information can both be imported and exported from other systems using SOAP API or XML format.
