TimeEdit is an open system that facilitates integration with other systems. To expedite
integration and make the process as effective as possible, Evolvera arranges courses that
give participants an overview of SOAP-oriented web services and insight into how SOAP can
be used for TimeEdit integrations.

The course is divided into three parts:

• A general explanation of what SOAP is and how it works.

• An introduction to TimeEdit that focuses on the aspects most relevant to SOAP.

• A presentation of TimeEdit Connect. This includes a general description of how API is
intended to be used plus a presentation of the API functions.

Functions offered through TimeEdit’s Connect can of course be used for many applications
and in many different types of integrated development environments. For this reason, it is
not possible to answer questions about each participant’s environments or tasks. Examples
are instead presented in general terms. This also means that it is up to each participant to
select an environment in which they are qualified and to personally make sure that the
communication with TimeEdit works.

We recommend that participants prepare for the course by familiarising themselves with
both SOAP and TimeEdit. Obviously, previous experience of integrations and using SOAP to
communicate with external systems is beneficial.

One feature that distinguishes integrations with TimeEdit from integrations with most other
systems is the special object model that TimeEdit uses for its resources. TimeEdit does not
differentiate between what type of resource is integrated – people, courses, classes, companies,
activities or facilities make no difference.
